Poly-What?

What I learned from the movie was that you can not combine variables. For example: 7x+19y does not equal 26xy. But now I know that 7x+19y would be the final answer. I also learned where polynomial came from, and how to remember how many parts or values are in monomials and trinomials

Assignment #5

The article I chose was "30 Ways to Save: Shopping food thrift stores." I chose that article because in the title, it says "food thrift stores" and the only thrift store I have ever heard of was for clothing or toys. This article relates to my parents because the economy is so bad right now, and the cost of food is going higher, my parents are always looking for a good bargain. Thrift stores always have good bargains. What I learned from this article is that even though something might be a day old, or the packaging may be a bit bent up or crinkled, it is still the same food you can get for more money at a regular grocery store.

The other article I chose was "30 Ways to Save: Cost saving with cloth diapers." I chose that article because in the title, it says "cloth diapers" and I have only heard or seen the disposable diapers. This article relates to my cousin because his child is still in diapers and he is already one and a half years old, and in one and a half years, you can use a lot a diapers. What I learned from this article is that cloth diapers can save you a lot of money. $249,520 to be exact. Also, even though disposable diapers are easier and you can just throw them away, using cloth diapers is better for the environment and that is most important.

Assignment #4

If I was "average" American based on the article I just read, the total of miles I would drive in one week would have to be eighty miles. I got that because if I were to say drive sixteen miles to work, five days a week, then sixteen miles x five days would be eighty miles in one week.

In an average week for me, if I drove sixteen miles to work from home, and then drove sixteen miles back home from work, and I work five days a week, and then I drove about one-hundred twenty miles on the weekend, then I would be driving two-hundred fifty miles a week because sixteen miles + sixteen miles is thirty-two miles to work and back home, and thirty-two miles x five days is one-hundred sixty miles in a working week, then one-hundred sixty miles on a working week + one-hundred twenty miles on the weekend equals two-hundred fifty miles in one whole week. In the equation 250/mpg x P = T, with my mpg being 21 miles. It would be 250/21 x $2.61 = T. Which is 250/21= 12. Then 12 x $2.61 = $31.32. So that is how much it will cost me on gas in one week. In one month, it will cost me $93.96 because if it costs me $31.32 in one week and there are 3 weeks in a month, than $31.32 x 3 =$93.96. The equation is T x 3 = P. T means total cost. P equals price in one month.

My Dream Car

My dream car would have to be 2009 F-150, Ford truck. That would be my dream car because regular cars are cool and everything but I want something more durable and more rough. The color I would choose would be black because black is a calm color. It’s not bright and it’s not blah. The truck hold 15 gallons and my miles per gallon would be 21 miles. When I get older, I want to move to South Carolina and the gas prices there right now are $2.61. It will cost me $39.51 to fill up my trucks tank which is a pretty good price because when my parents fill up there van tank, it usually cost them around $50.00. So that would be my dream car and why. Also, what the miles per gallon would be and how much the gas prices are in South Carolina. Also How much it would cost me to fill my tank.
